Home Buying

 Home Buying

Now, as a first-time homebuyer, you are hoping for one of the most expensive parts of the first home purchase, that is, the financial aspects of the purchase, aka, buying your first home and buying the house right. Sure, everyone has that dream house, but buying your first home can be anything but ideal, and here’s why.

Avoiding Buyer’s Illogic

Make sure that the thinking behind buying a home is sound, otherwise, the likelihood of purchasing the home is greatly reduced. Of course, a home is a great place to live, but this means getting something in return. That may include all kinds of luxuries, including TV, stereo, club membership, but that too seems too good to be true.

Before you begin negotiating with real estate agents, look at the home you're negotiating with. Are they assessing the home’s value to someone else? What does everyone think of the particular neighborhood? When you are doing this research, take some time to know the approximate number of people the home has sold to and for what price. This will help you analyze the home you are interested in, and the chances you will end up being the lucky one that buys the home they want.

Saving for Your Mortgage

When you think about buying a house, it sounds as though it would be a great idea to save money up from working two full-time jobs to close the deal, but this might not be a great idea. When you think about what you should have, your wallet is packed like an accordion. Some cash can go very fast, as the mortgage company can give you a much lower interest rate than the money you’ve saved, plus another great insurance deal.

Before you go out and pay your mortgage, do some additional research to determine whether the mortgage company you are working with is charging more than the market rate to pay the home. It is a question you may not want to ask because it’s hard to identify if the rates have dropped, or just for providing extra cash to close the deal.

Rent, Home Sick, or Just Living

Living in a housing shortage is a new term that means if you don’t move that soon, you will be stuck with an old and small house. This is the reality of the situation. There is a reason that people are so desperate to get into the housing market. The housing market is soaring, but not to a point that the affordable or right house for you isn’t currently available.

If you’re determined to live in a house and want to move from house to house, know the next things you need to know: in a house, you will need a yard and access to a driveway. The backyard is the perfect setting for a playroom, play station, art studio, board game room, etc. Not to mention, if your house has children, you need to understand how often they’ll be changing the house’s locks, getting rained on, or complaining.
